Simulation of a Pilot Scale Power-to-Liquid Plant Producing Synthetic Fuel and Wax by Combining Fischer–Tropsch Synthesis and SOEC

Power-to-Liquid (PtL) plants can viably implement carbon capture and utilization technologies in Europe. In addition, local CO2 sources be valorized to substitute oil gas imports. This work’s aim was determine the PtL efficiency obtained by combining a solid oxide electrolyzer (SOEC) Fischer–Tropsch synthesis. recommended plant configuration produce synthetic fuel wax at pilot scale is established. The presented process configurations with without tail reformer were modeled analyzed using IPSEpro as simulation software. A maximum mass flow rate of naphtha, middle distillate 57.8 kg/h realized SOEC unit operated co-electrolysis mode, rated power 1 MWel.. 50.8% found for reformer. Implementing resulted 62.7%. Hence, reforming highly beneficial plant’s productivity efficiency. Nevertheless, based on recirculation feasible solution manage transition from laboratory industrial applications.
